Well, I'm back in Saskatchewan. We (Henry, Ella and I) arrived late on Saturday night. Our flight was delayed in Toronto slightly so I was only about 30 minutes later than anticipated. All things considered, the flights went off without a hitch. Ella and Henry arrived relatively unscathed and seem to be adapting well to their new surroundings. I think I'm starting to adapt, as well!
I brought home a nasty case of bronchitis, that despite a week's worth of antibiotics is still kicking my butt. I'm starting to feel better - just need to rid myself of the cough. I'm not feeling much like being out and about. Will eventually move farther than the living room at mom's house - but just not yet.
The to-do list for this week includes a doctor's appointment and a stop at the RCMP to get a criminal record check...which I find quite amusing as I haven't lived here for four years. Anyway, that is what I will do!
I'm missing my Damascus - it's true! I am sure such feelings will stay by me for quite some time. I am hoping that someday the situation there will be resolved and I look forward to returning. In the meantime, I look ahead to the future and will see what opportunities are awaiting me.
Coming home has had some wonderful benefits. I was able to have a great visit with my Uncle Ken, whom I haven't seen for something like 25 years. Crazy! Yesterday, mom took the day off work and she and I got to spend my first "weekday" home having a nice visit. I've made a few phone calls and sent a few emails so news of my arrival should have reached the masses - not that my arrival is news, just that people should be able to stop worrying now :)
And on that note, I shall stop my rambling. Will post regularly while I am home - there are lots of exciting adventures to tell of while I am in Saskatchewan. However, right now, I'm off to make some toast and peanut butter! Welcome home Tylene!!!
