Fabulous February

It's hard to believe we're well into February.  Seems just like yesterday that I arrived in Canada, even though I've officially been home for two weeks.  I have stayed fairly close to Humboldt in these two weeks, heading to Regina for a day trip and a few runs into Saskatoon.  I've had some nice coffee talks with my friends and was able to see my dear brother, Michael, for dinner when I was in Regina on Friday.

The most challenging part of being home has been finding light-weight cotton clothing to pack and take with me when I go to Indonesia.  February is a bad time to need spring and summer clothing.  Don't get me wrong - stores are finally starting to unpack their spring line.  However, I'm stuck having to pay full price for everything.  Oh well, I guess that is what I get for deciding to set myself out on another grand adventure.

Kitties have been adapting well.  Ella is quite delighted with her kitty condo and the various scratch boards we have around the house.  She also fancies the cat nip spray that we put on her toys and the condo.  She might be high most of the time, but it's been fun to watch her.

Henry is adapting too.  He has claimed his own chair and spends time there even when mom is in the house.  He's found his way upstairs to where my room is and curls up on the bed there for a sleep at night or during the day.

Other than regular life, I'm waiting for the papers to arrive from the school in Indonesia so that I can make my application for my visa.  Seems to be taking a long time.  Hopefully I will have documents from the school before the end of the week.  I hope to be on my way before the end of February, but at this rate, I'm a little bit sceptical at the time frame.  We'll see how it goes.

This week I will be busy working on my university class and moodling for my kids in Damascus.  It is time consuming to plan for the week for my kids and try to anticipate their questions before they ask them.  It's certainly not the ideal way for fifth graders to finish their school year.  Oh well, it is what it is.

And that is the most recent update.  Will be looking ahead to Surabaya in upcoming weeks.  New luggage is purchased, as are all the clothes.  Therefore, I will start packing in preparation for my departure, whenever it is.

Until next time,

Tylene
