Well, it's hard to believe that summer is drawing to a close...especially since it hasn't really felt like summer. I know that Saskatchewan isn't Kuwait, but really, could we not have had at least one week of hot weather (hot being above 27 degrees!). Boo hoo.
At any rate, on Friday morning I will be boarding my flight to Toronto...the first stop on route to Kuwait. I can't say that I'm as eager to return this year as I was to go last year...maybe it's not being quite ready to leave family and friends; maybe it's not having my voice back yet; maybe it's a combination of many things! Regardless, I am going back for what I hope is a great second year.
I was glad to have a chance to see so many of you this summer. Though "home" was mostly based out of Humboldt, I did manage to get around this summer...hee hee hee! My trips started the day after I returned from Kuwait...a stop in Strasbourg en route to Regina, where I stayed with my brothers for a week. That was followed by a trip back to Humboldt for a few days before heading to Prince Albert for a week or so. Then, back to Humboldt for a week at which point I headed south for some of the coldest days of the summer.
I had a blast during the week I spent at Kenosee, though, and was delighted to see some great friends while there. That's the great thing about Kenosee...so many people come back, you always know somebody there. After Kenosee I stayed put for a while in Humboldt...well, stayed put as in just travelled to Saskatoon and such. August brought a week in Waskesiu and another week (almost) with my brothers and friends in Regina before heading for a cross-Canada (okay, provinces) road trip to Calgary for a wedding the weekend August 15th.
The last days in Saskatchewan will be spent in Humboldt again with mom. I will take a few more trips to Saskatoon...leaving me officially stocked up on hair products, school supplies, clothes and things I really don't need but want!Once again, thank you to everyone with whom I had a chance to visit. I was so delighted to see each and everyone of you.
For those of you whom I missed this summer; fear not, I will be back next summer and hopefully it will work for us to get a visit in then!Plans for travel this year include another trip to Greece...the islands this time; Jordan, Egypt, Dubai with my mom and brother for Christmas and hopefully Oman and Lebanon. Would also like to try to get to Turkey, but I might be running out of time. Be sure to stay tuned to the year's events and travel on my blog... http://www.tyinkuwait.blogspot.com/
Much love to all!!!Tylene

Hi, Tylene,
We've been back for a week, trying settle into home based routine. But how the summer has flown by - as cold as it's been, it's so hard to believe it's John D. and John B.'s birthdays already! And already almost time for kids and teachers to head back to school!!
Perhaps the silver lining is that the weather here might make you look forward to the heat of Kuwait.
The conference and my presentations went really well. My co-presenter regarding virtual members wants to do another workshop in Spokane in July next year. Are you willing to do an update or a "where to from here" kind of thing? Depending on your plans, you might want to do the presentation yourself. We had a beautiful drive through Alberta, a corner of Idaho and along the Columbia River on the way and really enjoyed the rugged beauty of the Oregon coast after. The train ride home was a wonderfully relaxing finish.
Looking forward to seeing you before you begin your return to your Kuwait home.
Lots of love, Lynn
