Twas the night before school starts and all through the hall;
I was frantic and grouchy, not ready at all!
The copier broke down, no printing got done;
New desks were not there, and the painting's not done.
The library's in boxes, and the laminator's done in;
How will I greet all the kids with a grin?
It's true, I'm annoyed, "ready" is way out of sight
But school starts tomorrow at dawns early light.
The day will be short, for Ramadan's here
But still, all I want is a nice, cool beer.
And desks would be great, as would a copy or two
But it's not in my hands, so what else can I do?
I'll write you a poem, while I sit and watch "Bones"
And I'll make "to do" lists and talk on the phone!
It will be okay, this I know to be true
On this night before school, I am thinking of you!
I'll write you some more once the kidlets have come
But for the moment the poem is all done.
Have a great week and soon we will chat
I must go to bed...this I'm told by my cat!!!
