Summertime and the living is easy...

Well, it's official. I've been home for two weeks. Have spent very little time at home as I've been in Regina, Prince Albert and Moose Jaw but am having a wonderful time. It is great to be home...sometimes it's surreal, almost like I never left. Regardless, I think the summer is going to fly by... just thinking about it makes me a little blue.

This past week I went to Prince Albert to have a visit with my St. Francis Family. Although some are off to different schools next year, and some have already moved to other schools, it was great to have a chance to see so many people while I was home. Spending the three days in the school was also great. I didn't realize how much I missed being at St. Francis until I was there. It was a great place to start my career...many wonderful teachers with whom to work...people who I now have the privilege to call "friends".

I played for Mass on Thursday. It was nice to sit at the piano again. It was, however, very different to not be singing as I was playing. I sometimes worry that this stupid voice thing isn't going to clear up. It seems like forever since I've had my normal voice. I know the road to recovery is a long one, but I just wish it would hurry up already.

I guess the thing that I learned from my visit to Prince Albert is that, although I live on the other side of the world, I am never far away from the thoughts of my friends. It was great to have a year's worth of adventure to share, and even better to feel as though I hadn't left at all...there was no awkwardness, it was just like old times.

Next week I will head back to Regina for some more quality time with my brothers. I am sure they are looking soooo forward to it. (hee hee hee, I know they missed me!!!) Before that, though, dear friends - Paulette, Ted and Sophie are coming to Humboldt for a visit this weekend.

I'll continue to write throughout the summer...just because I'm in Saskatchewan, the adventure doesn't end. At some point, I'll have to start talking about getting ready to go back to Kuwait...but not just yet.

Much love to all...

Tylene (Grover is still recovering from a long year of over-indulgence and travel; he will return soon)
