Pricks and pokes

Well, I feel like a pin cushion.  It has been really a lot more time consuming getting ready for this move, it seems than like the other two.  In large part because I don't live in Prince Albert and have been driving back and forth a few times a week for vaccination appointments.  However, after a phone call to Public Health here in Humboldt, I am all set and ready to go for my last injection here, in Humboldt.  Whoo hoo.  Here's hoping I am still in country next week.  Seeing that I still don't have my visa package from the school, it would appear that I will be.

Things have been really slow going in terms of the visa.  The visa package was sent last week on Thursday.  The school was told it would only take three days to arrive.  Today is day 6 and the parcel is still in Ottawa.  Maybe it will arrive tomorrow or Thursday.  Then I need to get things sent off to Ottawa to have the visa processed.  As much as I love being at home in Humboldt, it sometimes seems that it is just taking so much more time than if I were in a larger centre.  Nonetheless I am enjoying my time at home and time with my kitties.

Speaking of kitties, Henry isn't doing so well.  I don't remember if I mentioned in my last blog (heck, I don't know if I knew in my last blog) my dear Henry is in the early stages of kidney failure.  We're not sure how it will play out, but I am hoping for some quality time in whatever time he has left.  He's been quite a trooper. Today he had to have some dental work done, which required him to be put under.  It was a difficult decision.  If we didn't go ahead with the surgery, we'd be risking an infection and with limited kidney function, he can't really get rid of toxins caused by an infection.  However, being under the anesthetic was also a risk.

However, Henry is a trooper.  He came out of the anesthetic just fine.  Ella has been lost without her little buddy.  She's currently curled up in Henry's chair - in his corner.  I think she just wants to be close to him in whatever way she can be.  Heny has to start a low protein diet and for the next week will be restricted to canned food, so hopefully Ella will be accommodating and not a royal pain in the ass.

Aside from kitties and vaccinations, life has been good.  Being at home has been really good.  I am starting to really feel rested.  I am sure there will be plenty of time to feel busy again once I'm on the road.  We'll see what happens.

Anywho, that is all that I have to report.  I will keep in touch in the upcoming weeks and let you know when I am ready to go.

Talk to you soon

Tylene
