And I'm Off - Again

Well, I'm officially off as of 8:45 p.m. February 29th.  It will be a busy time up until departure, but in a good way.  As I was not actually sure when I would leave - until late last week - I started packing a while ago.  That meant, aside from a few odds and ends yesterday and today, I have been packed for a while.

I did discover that I miss my little pre-departure journey to Walmart.  The CO-OP, IGA, Pharmasave and Shoppers in Humboldt all served me well, but hokey dinah, it was considerably more expensive than it ought to have been.  I'm supporting local business.  I will look at it from that perspective :)

Tonight, mom and I will attend the Jann Arden concert in Saskatoon.  We'll overnight there and mom will head back to Lanigan for work bright and early Wednesday morning.  She has work commitments that are pre-empting our farewell day together.  However, I will have an opportunity to visit with my friend and relatives in Saskatoon on Wednesday!  Time well spent!

I have been positively spoiled in the time that I've been home.  Aside from my wonderful momma, the weather has been marvelous.  I have had to shovel the drive way for three days (all three days in the last week).  Don't fear, I wasn't making mom shovel for the rest of the time - we haven't had any snow :)  Temperatures have also been relatively warm as well.  Today it is -15 and I must admit that it is a little too chilly.  I am looking forward to being warm again.  Brrr.

My new blog title will be announced once I'm settled in Surabaya.  There will be many wonderful adventures to share, I am sure.  The staff at the school have been so welcoming thus far.  I have received numerous "welcome" emails.  I will be living on campus in teacher housing.  It will be a nice way to get to know other people.  Hopefully the next three months will be positive personally and professionally!

Will be in touch again soon.  Ella and Henry are all geared up for their time with mom.  I think I have bought them every single, solitary treat a kitty could possibly want.  Henry has really perked up in the last few days.  I am so relieved.  He's even ventured back to his dry food dish!  Surprising since he is toothless on the left side of his mouth.  What a trooper.  Not sure how long he'll stay healthy, but hoping for the best.  Today, Ella is curled up in Henry's chair and Henry is curled up in a sunbeam.  So sweet.  I will miss them these next months!

And on that note, I should run to the vet a stock up on Henry's special diet.  If any of you have tips for how to keep Ella out of Henry's food, I'd appreciate the suggestions.  She is such a piglet.  If she isn't under a watchful eye, she will bogart his entire meal - then yack it up on the floor.

Talk soon

Ty
