Annual Christmas Letter

The year is drawing to a close;
The perfect time to write some prose.
Reflecting on the year that’s passed;
Most has been fun, I’ve had a blast.

Much has happened this past year;
My voice came back; let’s give a cheer.
My health’s been good, I have been blest;
The Riders, well, they won the West…

I have left Kuwait behind;
Though friends there are on my mind.
I still do visit now and then;
I’ve been back once, I’ll go again.

Now Damascus is my home;
A really lovely place to roam.
The cats are great, they’ve adjusted well;
Ella’s naughty, Henry’s swell.

I have met great people too;
Not just one, but quite a few.
I love my school, I love my class;
Damascus is a place I’ll last.

I have a great apartment too;
I even cooked for thirty-two.
T’was at Thanksgiving this past year;
There was turkey cooked with beer.

Fun with friends is at “Ninar”
Where we have chicken in a jar.
It’s sort of like a small pot pie
It is tasty, I cannot lie.

I joined a choir and had much fun;
Our Christmas concerts now are done.
We’ll have a concert in the spring;
I am glad that I can sing.

Singing lessons have started too;
Someday I will sing for you.
There’s lots to work on, this I’ll say;
But I’ll get MY VOICE back some day.

Lots of fun, well, it’s been had;
Don’t you worry, I’ve not been bad.
Damascus is great, this you should know;
We’ve even had two days of snow.

And as this year draws to an end;
Warmest wishes, I do send.
Merry Christmas to each of you;
And a Happy New Year too!
