Back to the drawing board...

Well, my Spring Break began on Friday with a skype call with the principal in Bucharest, who despite glowing affirmations of my abilities as a teacher and my enthusiasm, let me know that they decided to go with a candidate who had forth grade experience. She did, however, ask if, in a month, an additional position opened up in Grade 5, would I be willing to accept. As it turns out, there is a teacher on the fence about next year...so who knows will happen.

In the mean time I shed a few tears, ate really naughty food, that when I haven't eaten naughty food for a long time just made my tummy hurt, and applied to a few more schools. I was checking the ISS website and there were a few Grade 7 English positions (Oman and Johannesburg) as well as a few elementary positions (Russia, Venezuela). The plus side is that both the ISS website AND the school's websites have these positions posted. The downside is that it is very possible that both are old postings and schools haven't updated their vacancies.

After Easter break I will begin applying back home too. My biggest problem with applying back home is that I'm not sure where home will be! I don't know where I want to live, where I want to teach. I'm stressing about silly things like finding a place to rent that will allow my two fungusy felines. (yes, they're still full of fungus) At any rate, as mom assures me, it's not like I'll be homeless - I will have a roof over my head...somewhere.

Spring break has consisted of spring cleaning (and despite the fact that I have a house keeper, I did clean - closets even!), packing up of the winter attire to make room for the summer (would seem like I have a whole new wardrobe), and visits to the Corniche...which I am going to miss terribly. Les Mills fitness classes are the ones that I take and it would appear that Saskatchewan (or Romania for that matter) do not have any gyms that offer the program. Another heart breaker! Is it enough to stay in KUWAIT? Hell no! But I might have to consider Albert, Manitoba or Ontario in order to get my pump and combat fill!

Whilst working out at the Corniche, it would appear that my body is finally willing to acknowledge all the work I'm going through. I've dropped a full pant size. I've lost about 10 pounds. I'm losing on average 2 lbs a week - which considering I'm been working out 5 hours a week, eating well and not losing anything is my idea of catch up. If things keep progressing I should come home looking a little different. Regardless, I am having a blast - the classes are dynamite. I appreciate how the trainers at the gym know who I am, and check in whenever they see me to see how things are going. The trainer that I've been meeting with weekly is off to New Zealand for a month. She gets to go home for a holiday...lucky girl. Regardless, I will keep working and meet up with Kelly again when she is back in May! Today's trip to the Corniche will be a little time on the treadmill or elliptical. I've never used the elliptical, but maybe today will be the first daring adventure.

Tonight I will pick Angela, Rob, Anouk and Xavier up at the airport. It will be nice to have people around for the next few days. Sad to think in a week I will be back at school. What's a girl to do! Only 71 more days until I'm home, though. That's exciting!

I guess I should sign off. Things to do (not really), people to see (might go watch some television). Will talk to you soon!
