It's really the Ides of March

Here we go...another blog entry, not only for my brother, but for each and every one of my readers. At the present moment I am well, although terribly tired. It's that time of year, I think! March takes a lot out of a teacher. Spring break starts in just over a week. I think that I am staying in Kuwait. If I go anywhere it will be for a little trip to Dubai or Bahrain, but all in all, close to home or the Corniche is where I will be. It's hard to plan for a holiday when there is so much going on.

The job prospect in Romania is on hold. The father of the director passed away and as a result, the director has returned to the States. As such, it will be a few weeks before we can have the final interview, so I need to practice being patient. In one way it's a good thing because, rather than having to wonder each day if there will be an interview, I know that, for the next few weeks there won't be :)

Life at school continues to tick along. There are about 84 days left for me in Kuwait and the closer I get to the end of my time here, the more I realize how many great people I have met and will miss.

Weather has turned hot...which wouldn't be so bad if we still didn't have 3 months in Kuwait. Usually we have cooler weather until Mid-April or even May. However, it's mid-March and we're reaching 40 degrees already. Time to pack the extra deodorant in the purse everyday! It's also time to invest in more candles for the classroom. The children don't enjoy the stinky-ness! Smelly-ness starts earlier and earlier!

Got the go ahead from the doc to sing on Saturday...officially sing...not even having to hide it. It's very exciting for me. I can't hardly wait to try it out. I am still to be extra careful...watching to make sure I'm not straining my voice, but after almost a year (to date!) things are on the right track. In fact, I'm all allergic right now and haven't lost my voice. Whoot whoot. It's surely been a struggle, but I think perhaps there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

And I guess that's all I have to report for this week. We have an international day festival happening at school on Thursday. It means a 4 day teaching week, but will still, nonetheless, be a busy day. I will follow it, however, with a mani and a pedi. A girl's gotta have her standards!
And on that note, farewell until next week (or until something uber exciting happens)

Dear Ty,
I've just caught up with your recent blogs. Thank you for being faithful even when you don't get responses.
If John can give you a bad time, you can give it right back!
Waiting to hear with all digits crossed- Bucharest sounds fabulous. And not dusty, I understand!
I'm wondering how one international school experience translates into another one. Maybe you'll gain a sense of that from the interview.
Wee Jasmyne has graduated - she is now in a regular Pediatrics ward. Heading home soon, we all hope!
Lots of love, Lynn
