Beware the ides of March

Greeting blog followers!

First,I must apologize to my brother, John. He is a dutiful reader and was quite upset with my lack of updates lately. I was talking to him the day that Canada was playing USA for the Olympic gold medal game, hoping to find a way to watch online. Anywho, he pointed out that I had only written something like 4 blogs since the start of 2010. I was shocked...it seemed like more, but sure enough...only 4 :(

So here I go again, blogging life's little adventures in Kuwait. Perhaps next year's adventures will come from ROMANIA...still waiting for official word, but things look promising. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but that is a challenge, considering how excited I am at the possibility. That was one of the fruits that came from the crappy Boston job fair. I should know in the next little while (week or so) what happens. I've been saying that for the last couple weeks, but all that is really left is a chat with the director in Bucharest...however, scheduling is quite a challenge. Fingers crossed.

Other than that, we've had one of the dustiest springs. Our February break (Liberation day, National Day and Prophet's birthday) included five fabulously dusty days. As I am moving next year, I'm trying to save money by not travelling all the time. If I am going to Romania, I will still have lots of options for travel...however, if I end up going back to Saskatchewan, I will have to make these last few months count, while keeping enough money to pay to get my crap home. I have accumulated a few things...hard to do when IKEA is just a few minutes away. Yes I could sell it all (and most likely will if I come home) but there is no sense selling and re-buying in Romania. Lots hinges on this little Romania prospect.

Hmmm, what else...I continue to enjoy my students. They are night and day compared to last year's crew. Genuinely nice kids who try really hard. They are still "young" if that makes any sense. They make coming to work a whole lot easier. Mind you, there are some days that NOTHING makes coming to work easier. Only 89 more days. Whoot whoot.

Kitties are fine...fungus-y, but fine. They were so kind as to share their ring worm with me...so needless to say I felt like a leper for a while. Things seem to have calmed down now..both kitty wise and with me. Still having to anti-fungus and clean like crazy, but all in all, things are good. I do like my cats, even though they are a handful. I don't remember kitty-ownership ever being so challenging in Canada. What the heck.

And on that note, I'm going to run and get my lunch. Brought a delicious salad for lunch, with left over salmon. HOWEVER, salmon isn't good anymore and has ooozed it's nastiness into the rest of my salad...now I'm stuck with subway. So sad, too bad!

I will try to be more diligent in responding (a common refrain of mine this year). I do hope all is well on the home front. Until next time, my dear friends...

Tylene
