Well, September is just around the corner. With it comes the reality that I have to take a wee step back from the hours I have been keeping at work...I am going to work hard to keep up with my new responsibilities while at the same time still trying to maintain balance in my life. Regular trips to the gym, Glow, and just getting out are on the goal for September. Hopefully I will keep all the balls in the air while still staying balanced.
It's Sunday afternoon in Surabaya. I went in to work for a little while yesterday in an attempt to get out of housing during the mosquito fogging. Unfortunately even when I returned the air in my apartment was still heavy with the dust. A short time later my allergies were out of control, so I went to a movie. Sometimes you just go to a movie even if it is going to be a bad movie. Leather recliners, blankets and waiters to bring your order make it a little easier to go to a bad movie.
Tonight I will have a massage. Last weekend I bought a massage table for my house. I also bought new pots for my kitchen. I have been quite happy with my new purchases over the course of the past week. The massage table makes an at-home massage even better. The new pots are just awesome and when i get time in the kitchen they will be so much fun. Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I will make sure they are all ready for the big feast!
Work has been slowing down in some ways, but in other ways there is just always something more to do. This week is Back to School night for our ES (on Tuesday) and secondary (on Thursday). I am looking forward to being on the other side of back to school night. Still lots to prepare for the evenings, but I am looking forward to it.
I have really been enjoying this year. As always there are things that make me cringe, but I am learning to take it all in stride, to focus more on the many positive things that happen in my day rather than on the few moments of negativity. Still so much to look forward to and so much learning to do.
It's hard to believe that August is over. Seems like I just arrived back in SUB yesterday, though I know I have been here for a month. If all the months go by this quickly the year will be over before I know it. I'm not trying to look ahead though...I very much want to live in the moment.
So all in all, life is good. I miss being home, miss seeing friends and family, but I am enjoying my new adventure. I'm even going to try to get out and explore the wonderful place I live just a wee bit more this year. Perhaps Gili in October...we'll see if I can make it happen.
Until then, I'll see if I can't find something more exciting to write about than my everyday...until next time...
