Here we are, starting the fourth week of school. How many more weeks until the end of the school year?
It's really not that bad, but I must say I am looking forward to a long weekend next weekend. (We have October 6th off for Tishreen Liberation Day). All my Canadian friends back home will have October 10th off for Thanksgiving - you lucky dogs.
Well, if something for Thanksgiving transpires, it will be small and simple. A few people, a turkey and all the trimmings, but without the hoopla. I am tooo darned tired. Maybe I will have a burst of energy soon, but I am not holding my breath.
This week will be a busy one. After school activty forms go out - which means they will be returned and I will start the fun of slotting kids into desired activities. We'll see how things turn out. It's also considerably more difficult to offer a well rounded activity session when we have fewer staff and most of the elementary staff are helping with MS/HS and none of the MS/HS staff are coming to lend us a hand.
I invited one of our new teachers over for dinner last night. It was a nice, social time. Not too busy. Just made a home-made veggie pizza. It was most tasty! Tonight I will aim for an early bedtime. Need to make sure I am all caught up on my zzzs so that I will be able to stay awake and watch the premiere of Grey's Anatomy on Tuesday. (I know - you've already seen it...if you're a fan..some of us have to wait an extra week or two).
And that's all the happenings going on in my neck of the woods. Was saddened to hear about another Rider loss. What the heck. Let's get it together, boys. You think I'm gonna spend all night watching the Grey Cup with the Stampeders representing the West. No sir! (unless the Riders cinch the final East play off spot and beat Montreal to get to the final - you know what I'm talking about!)
Ooooh, exciting news I almost forgot. Henry's front claws have been trimmed. The poor guy was snuggled up on the chair for a snooze. He was half asleep, half awake. I sat beside him, pet him and then pinned him to the chair so I could cut his little claws that had gotten so long they were starting to curl. Now, don't start thinking I am a bad kitty momma. I have been trying to clip those frickin' claws since I got back. He just doesn't think it's fun. However, lately, he's been getting stuck in things, so maybe he sort of gave in. The back claws...they will have to wait.
Okay, 'nuf said. Will talk to you soon,
Ty
