All my bags are packed and I'm ready to go...

This will be my last post from Saskatchewan.  Tomorrow afternoon I will set off on my journey to Damascus.

Just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know about the last few weeks.  First of all, the Bon Jovi concert.  In one word, AMAZING. It was the best night ever.  I sang my heart out with Jon and the boys...lost my voice for a bit, but it was so worth it.  I am so glad that I went.  The weather was FANTASTIC - one of the three "hot" days we've had this summer.  Yes, I use quotations to indicate "hot" because I'm from the desert and "hot" in Saskatchewan and "hot" in the desert are a little different.  Perhaps it would be better to say it was one of the three days this summer in which I wasn't cold.

Suitcases are all packed up.  There will be three suitcases accompanying me to Damascus.  That is in addition to the crappola that will be shipped from Kuwait to Syria. Not sure when it will arrive, so I hope that I will have enough to get by until it arrives.  The way I look at it, the convenience of having my own things with me far out way the inconvenience of having to deal with shipping.

Summer in Saskatchewan has been great.  I must admit that leaving is bittersweet.  I am sure there will be many great adventures in Damascus.  Grover is ready for the trip.  I think he's really excited too.  It is quite the trip for him.  He's not sure what to expect and is a bit of a nervous flyer.  Hopefully he will survive the trip with very few stresses.

And on that note, I shall sign off for now.  I will send a note once I am settled in Damascus.  Until next time...
