It's hard to believe it's almost been more than a week since my last posting. I was doing so well there for a while. However, this week has, in many ways, just flown by. I think that will be the case for the last couple of days we have. Today's "school days" count is 25. My kidlets have it on the board. It's a constant reminder that the year is drawing to a close - and they are as excited as I am :)
Since I last wrote, we have exhibitioned and it was a fantastic success. I am so proud of the accomplishments of my students. It was great to see how, sometimes at the last minute, things really did come together. This weekend, on Saturday, my team will be coming over for brunch. It was supposed to be a dinner, but I forgot that I had doctor appointments that evening. Oh what fun...should be the last appointments. Regardless, I am going to prepare my very first brunch. Still not entirely settled on the menu...it'll come together sooner or later!
This week started with me passing by Stephanie's office and her saying, "I was just sending you an email". That's sometimes a dangerous way for conversation to start. This particular email was in regards to an intern who was starting at our school on Monday and due to the teacher she was supposed to work with was fairly sure she'd have a baby this week, a new placement needed to be found. Needless to say, rather than a Grade 2 placement, she's with me in Grade 5. She is a student from U of T who is planning on teaching here next year. It's going to be an interesting experience. Would appear that the program is less internship and more "hang out at school for a month". We'll see how things turn out. So far things are ticking along.
The week was also an exciting one when, on Tuesday, I arrived at school and shortly after getting upstairs, decided the rest of the day would be much more fun if the room spun. Needless to say, dizzy-spells accompanied by chest pains had me at the clinic for some blood work and tests. Turns out it's stress and all I have to do is stop worrying about my future. ha ha ha. Such an easy thing to remedy. Looks like I will be baking more often again. Just need to find friends to share my treats with so I don't counteract all the great work I've been doing at the gym. Downside to clinic time was the I.V. they stuck in my veinless hand. Then because they were also drawing blood and realized that it wasn't going very well, they pushed on my hand to get all the blood they needed. I now have a lump and a nasty bruise. I look like I was in combat, not just taking combat at the gym (hee hee - I'm so witty)
Other than that, I am doing okay. Trying to get things tied up here so I can focus on moving, jobs and all that jazz. Hard to do when I live in the desert. Instead I have fun at the Corniche and hanging out with my peeps (I'm hip and cool too!). Off for a mani and pedi tomorrow. Should be a good time. I always like that part of my day. And I just called to check the time and it turns out our appointments are in the afternoon AFTER my time at the gym. I wonder if I preplanned that or if it was just coincidence. Due to the whole fainting/heart thing earlier this week I missed the gym on Tuesday - the first time in FORVER. Now that I have a later pedi, I can make it to all the classes I missed.
Was possibly attending a ball tonight, but it didn't turn out. As such, I'm gonna hang out with Angela and Rob and watch American Idol. I've also been trying to watch a few episodes of my favorite shows online all week, but by the time I get to bed, i keep falling asleep. Maybe a night vegging out in front of the tele is just what I need...after my workout of course. There's apparently a "teacher ball" at the end of May. I'll keep my ears peeled for more information.
And that's the week(s) in a nutshell. Kidlets are returning from P.E. shortly and I get ready to dismiss them for the weekend, so I best run. Have a wonderful week. I'll be in touch early next week.
Love you all
Ty

Hi, Tylene,
Just a quick note to tell you that we're thinking of you. Sending all kinds of positive vibes for your heart and your head.
Glad your students did well and enjoyed the exhibition. Now remind them and yourself to enjoy your last few days together. So UofT doesn't have a rigorous internship program? Very interesting! It's really up to her what she gets out of it.
It's Thursday 29 April 7:45 PM here. Fascinating that you are finished with your Thursday already. Hope you're having a great weekend. Take care of you!!!
Lots of love, Lynn
