The Adventures of Grover and Tylene...Camp Kenosee

Hmmm, where to start.

It's been a crazy week or so. I am definitely starting to feel the ramifications of continuous travel, so have decided to stay more or less "put" this week. I am back in Humboldt after spending a week at Kenosee. And what a week it was.

The week following Christmas in July, Michael stayed in Humboldt and we stayed out of trouble by dry walling the basement. We didn't do any mudding, so if you know someone who's an excellent mudder, be sure to let me know. At any rate, after a day in S'toon on Tuesday, mom went back to work on Wednesday - Friday and Mike and I headed to Regina on Friday morning. I spent the weekend in Regina and left for Kenosee on Sunday afternoon.

It had been a while since I spent a week at camp, but I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I can't get over how much has changed, but change is good, right. It has always been like "home", so going back and getting to visit with some of my favorite people made the week. Perhaps someday I'll return as a counsellor...we'll see what happens.

I returned to Regina on Friday night following the infamous camp program, and after a swim in my brothers' hot tube (the first time I've been warm all summer) I hopped in the car and made my way to Humboldt. Sunday was spent in Saskatoon seeing "A Midsummer's Night Dream" during the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan festival. Mom, Jean, Susan and I then went to the Taste of Saskatchewan...we arrived at a good time...not too crowed. A nice way to spend a Sunday.

This week is a week of recuperation. It would appear that I'm not as young as I once was and such extensive holidaying requires a week to recover. That I will do. Today I've been busy sleeping until 11, doing a few loads of laundry, having an afternoon nap and taking some time to blog...nothing too exciting. Will get supper underway shortly for mom...chicken a la Tylene. Should be delicious.

And that's life in a nutshell. Wouldn't want too much of the summer to pass by before I left another little blog. Must say that Grover is still not doing much...watching the highway go by, but that is about all the little gaffer can handle. He's soooo tired...poor Muppet.

Hope all is well with you. Will write again soon.

Ty

Hi, Tylene,
Last of the house guests left yesterday PM so I'm getting caught up with email and getting back to prep for DKG Northwest Conference. Thanks so much for your thoughtful reflections. As I looked again at the photos you sent, I noticed for the first time Grover in one of the Girguyan photos. He looked pretty pleased to be there but the little girl who got to hold him looked so proud to be the one with Grover! No wonder the little guy is tired - the centre of attention in school as well as at parties! Please send me a phonetic pronunciation guide for 'Girguyan'.
Talk soon about after the conference. For a while now, G has been marking time as 'BC' (before conference) and 'AC' (after conference). Needless to say, he's looking forward to 'AC'!!
Lots of love, Lynn
