Brrr, I'm chilly!

So, as I sit in my classroom, I wish that I had a sweater, or a sarong...it gets mighty nippy in here when the kids are away.  As I shivered at my desk,  it occurred to me that I am a day behind on my blog. So, for all my faithful blog followers, I will take a few minutes and catch you up on the world's events.  Okay, maybe not the world's events, but I will catch you up on the fun and exciting times in Sparkling Surabaya.

I have been spending my late afternoons at the gym as of late. It has been nice to get back into that steady routine, though my foot is not quite up to par - I still have to be super careful.  Slowly though, I am easing back into my exercise regime.

Last Thursday, I went to my first Body Combat class since September.  It totally kicked my ass.  However, it was oh so much much.  I made it right through to the end.  I didn't get to two combat classes last week, but perhaps I will be ready for more combat this week.

We've been getting crazy rain here as of late.  On Sunday night, I was returning from a work out at the gym. My taxi had dropped me outside our gate.  I was grateful to have had the foresight to put my plastic flip flops back on while in the taxi because when I came onto the compound, I wadded through ankle deep water all the way to my apartment.  Last night's rain was just as intense, though I totally missed it - I was in the gym.  I had no trouble getting home afterward (once I was able to get a taxi).  All in all, the rain is not dampening my spirits.  Good thing too, seeing we have a few months left of the rainy season.

Hmmm, what else to report?

I will be coming home in a few weeks.  The arrangements for Fr. Banga's memorial service have been finalized, so I will be home for a few days so I can attend.  I am very thankful that it all worked out - that dates were finalized and that they were at a time that I could be away from work for a week.  It will be a whirl wind of a trip, but so very worth it.
