Christmas Letter 2012

T’was the day after Christmas and it was finally time;
For  the ol’ Christmas letter brimming with rhyme.
There is so much that’s happened throughout the past year;
So as I think back, I might just have a beer.

To Damascus I flew, back in January;
Stayed just for three weeks as things got kind of hairy!
It was so hard to leave, for I do love it so;
I miss the city, the school and the people I know.

I was home for a month ‘fore setting off once again
To Surabaya in March to meet old and new friends.
Some days are a challenge, but some things I do love;
Like my nanny, and Bali and wearing no gloves
J

The spring flew like hot cakes, and before long at all;
I was coming back home and would stay ‘til the fall.
The plans for the summer would have been rather busy;
And just thinking of them, well it made me quite dizzy.

So rather than stressing, I put off my degree;
And spent a month at my camp – ‘ twas delightful for me!
In August I rested, and unpacked many boxes;
Then repacked summer clothes and also some sock-es.
There are two of us teaching in fourth grade this year;
We have two charming classes and days filled with cheer!
The teacher I work with is really quite grand;
We have lots of fun in that far away land.

In October I had a few people for dinner;
A Canadian Thanksgiving, and it was a winner!
There was also a party, a great “Girls Night In”
It was a fun way for the Fall to begin!

November meant time for a grand birthday bash;
We hopped on a plane and to Bali we dashed.
Three of my friends joined me for so much fun!
Over and over back to Bali I’ll run!

I’ve lost loved ones close to me in the past year;
They are near to my heart, I hold them so dear.
Henry, my kitty, was put down in July;
Ella’s still healthy, and cheery and spry!

I lost a dear friend a few weeks ago;
Things will be different when to Kenosee I go.
Father Banga’s spirit will forever be there;
I will always remember his love and his care.

December’s soon over and it’s almost New Year;
I’ve enjoyed time with family and the seasonal cheer!
Time will pass far too quickly, ‘fore I return to the sun;
But before I do go, here and there I will run!

I hope that your year has been joy-filled and swell;
I hope that the upcoming year will go well.
I wish you Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year;
Peace, joy and love and plenty of cheer.
