Tour of East Java - PICTURES

Coban Baung Waterfall

Really scary bridge I had no intention of crossing

The rushing water that the really scary bridge over looks

More rushing water - for the record, I am sure the view from the bridge would have been beautiful, but so is staying alive :)

Christy (colleague from SIS) is a risk-taker.  She showed no fear as she crossed the bridge.

Purwodadi Botanical Gardens - Cacti

Cool tree - would be a great climbing tree for Katniss in The Hunger Games

This is a hibiscus.  I only know what a hibiscus is because my momma had a yellow one.  We are at the Wonosari Tea Plantation.

This is the view from a look out at the Wonosari Tea Plantation

The little green things are tea leaves.  Wonosari Tea Plantation.  Yes - the picture is sideways.  No, I can't figure out how to change the orientation in Blogger.  Thank you for adjusting

We took a tour of the tea plantation.  Tea leaves are picked by hand.  Then they are delivered via a "tea lift" (like a ski lift, but for tea) to this drying area.  The leaves are removed from the bags and left here.  Then they go through a long process that we didn't see and get packaged into...

big ass bags of tea!  I loved the tour because it smelled delicious.

Pretty fountain

Grounds of Kaliandra Sejati Foundation - a peaceful little get away.

Kaliandra Sejati - if any of you come and visit me, I will take you here!

Pretty flowers

This funky orange-ish red flower hangs from above :)

This is the villa at Kaliandra Sejati

Holy bamboo, Batman!

On the way to the quaint little bungalow you can rent if you want to stay over.

Bungalow - two floors (thus the name)  open air facilities.  Three bathrooms?

Gardens behind the Jawi Temple.  The temple is surrounded by a moat.

Was hoping to see a frog :(

Jolotundo Temple

Jolotundo temple.  Ritual bath.  While we were visiting, we were the subject of many local's photographs.  It's a little weird having your picture taken by a bunch of strangers!
