Today is a very exciting day in my little world. My momma is on a plane as I type, somewhere over the Atlantic, on her way to Kuwait. She was delayed in Washington, which after already being there for SEVERAL hours (as in more than 12) I think a delay is super sucky. BUT her plane was de-iced and she's on her way. There are some benefits to living in the desert...no need to de-ice the plane!
Today is also an exciting day because I quit my job...well, effective the end of the school year anyway. That is one less thing left to do. I will continue to look for new teaching positions and opportunities as I get ready for the next adventure. Boston job fair will be quite the party! Hee hee hee.
We're down to the last 5.5 days of teaching. Considering that next week I'm out of the classroom for 2 of those days to help with the purchase order for resources (even though I'm not staying, they still use me for my wisdom) I am really ready for the break. I do, however, need to remind myself that if I don't make the next week seem important, then my students will be a nightmare to manage...well, as much of a nightmare as such a great group of kids can be.
Tonight I am hoping mom has enough energy for a little bit of shopping, some baking and some decorating...either that, or that she won't mind that I'm up half the night doing it. Just for the record, Christmas in a Muslim country, is just as busy as it is back home. Busy, busy, busy. Tomorrow is the Christmas Party...should be a great time. I am going to bring my momma. Don't tell her, but Santa's going to bring her a present. I sure do hope she likes it!
And on that note I should be off. Bell's gonna ring shortly. OOOOH I almost forgot the most exciting news of the week. I was at the Avenues (big, pretty mall) with my friend Angela last weekend. We were in the kids department (she has a girl and a boy) and what did I find on the shelf? A super-Grover t-shirt. Needless to say, I might have purchased it. I'm now trying to figure out how I can make a t-shirt for a 1 year old into a t-shirt for me. Angela suggested making it into a little travel bag for Grover, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to wear it. If you have any ideas (and don't say "Tylene, you're 36, it's not cool to wear super-Grover") let me know!
More will come very soon. I will write next week before the break and also while in Dubai. It's so close. Hurrah!
Much love. May these days before Christmas be a time of peace and preparation!

Hi, Ty,
I expect your mother has arrived and has enjoyed being warm there with you while we here in SK have -45 wind chills. But I'm not bitter!
Short bulletin about wee Jas: she now weighs 1141 grams or about 2 and a half pounds. J and J MAY get to hold her after Christmas.
I'm baking shortbread and butter tarts today - nice and warm in my kitchen. But I'm not bitter!
Enjoy the last day of school before holidays. What do your students call this holiday??
When do you depart for your holiday?
Marry Christmas and lots of love, Lynn
