Another countdown begins...

Well, now it's time for yet another countdown...Winter break starts in just three more days. It is very exciting that it is also so very close. I must admit that I am a little excited for the opportunity to spend Christmas with most of my family. I would have loved for John to come too, but that is the way the cookie crumbles. Into everyone's life a little rain must fall! So we'll just phone him and make it seem like he's really there. Oh, and John, if you're wearing this, just because I'm not there doesn't mean that you don't have to get up at the first sign of day to open presents from Santa. That's very important!

Mom arrived safely last Wednesday after a long flight made longer by many delays. Apparently there was quite a winter storm blowing through the east coast and as a result, the trip out of Washington was delayed a few hours. It also meant that mom was stuck at the airport for her layover rather than venturing out into the city. Boo hoo! There will be another time to go to Washington, I am sure!

It took a while longer to get through the visa and security section this time. She wasn't wandering the airport looking for a pay phone like she was last time. I think mom is getting used to such travelling adventures. I'll have to make sure my next destination provides opportunities for visits too!

As for the next teaching destination...well, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Morocco, Oman, Turkey, Scotland and a few others are the countries that I applied to. I won't know much more until after the job fair in February, but we'll see what happens, I suppose.

It's taken a while to get this blog out. I think I started writing it on Sunday and now it is Wednesday. We are now down to just 24 more hours until our break. Actually, this time tomorrow, the little gaffers will all be on their way. Hurray! I spoke with the airline today and have confirmed the flight from Kuwait to Dubai and back again for mom and me. The break is just around the corner...yet seems so far away!

Well, I should be off. I have some work to do prior to the end of the day. I will talk to you all once, for sure, before the break. I will post my Christmas letter online this year.

Wishing you a great week.

Tylene
