The Adventures of Grover and Tylene: Exhibition - what a show it will be

Hello all,

Well, it's Tuesday...one week before exhibition is going to roll here in good ol' AIS. The kids are frantically creating publicity posters and invitations, as well as putting the finishing touches on their presentations. It is going to be an interesting experience, to say the least. That's what it's all about...the experience.

Life is ticking along. Will be home in just over 7 weeks. That is an exciting number...it's almost just one hand left to count on. Then you know it's really gonna fly by. When I think where I was 7 weeks ago, I believe I was in Dubai. In some ways it seems like just yesterday...in other ways, it seems like forever ago.

I am still dealing with health issues, although the sinuses have been really good, as of late anyway. Perhaps I'm finally starting to deal with all the dust. Perhaps it's the fabulous air purifiers and humidifiers I have in my room. Maybe it's the allergy medication that I take twice a day, everyday. Whatever the story, I am pleased that I can breathe with relative ease.

As for the thyroid and all that junk...who the heck knows. Spent the last two mornings at the public hospital for more thyroid tests. Didn't know there were so many tests that one's thyroid could undergo. I think, though, we've officially reached the end of the tests...now maybe we'll get some answers once all the results are in...Sunday is the day (Public hospital...results are unavailable on Friday and Saturday.) I'll keep you posted.

And sadly, that's pretty much the extent of my life as of late. I'm working hard...but not too hard; tutoring lots...but not too much; baking yumminess...ALL THE TIME! Good thing I'm not eating all the yumminess...would need to shop for a new wardrobe. I am, however, still on the look out for a ball gown. Perhaps today will bring some luck...or tomorrow...or the weekend. Meh, who knows.

I best get my butt in gear, though...much to do and little time left before kidlets are back. Grover and I hope that this finds all of you very well. More to come soon.

Lots of love all the way from Kuwait...which, to let you know is around 35 degrees during the day. The evening (around 6) cools to a chilly 30...sometimes feel like I need a sweater. I'm so pathetic.

Hi, Ty,
Where are you going in a BALLGOWN?! Tell all, girl!
So glad to hear that you're at the end of the tests; hope the results are definitive so you'll know what comes next and can get it over with.
Beta chapter DKG met last night. A couple of members asked about you. And I need to "talk" with you about a presentation I'm doing at the Northwest Regional Conference in Spokane in July on the subject of "virtual" members. Think about what you'd like me to share about your experience as a new and virtual member in Kuwait. There is so much in your blogs about (teaching in) Kuwait -
what should I highlight?? I'll go through and pick out some bits and you can veto/edit my suggestions. If I can face down my fear, I'd like to show some pictures on power point to accompany the spoken word. If the technology of the data projector did not work during the presentation, I'd be useless to "fix" it. Because of our slow service out here, I'd need you to send only 3 or 4 pictures at a time - if you agree to share images - but not till June, when you're back in SK.
Until then, take care of you! I'll remind your mom to have your parka at the ready to help you adjust to SK temperatures.
Lots of love, Lynn
