Hello all those near and dear!
I have been rather slack at keeping with my weekly post, so please feel free to drop me a reminder from time to time if you've noticed it's been a while since there was an update.
Well, the weather has cooled off...daily temperatures range between 25 and 32. It's actually quite mild...sometimes even chilly (I know, I sound pathetic, but it's true). Long pants, shirts with longer sleeves are all a part of my daily wardrobe. Soon I'll pull out the sweaters! What an adventure.
Recent weeks have been crazy...that's the easiest way to describe it. Lots going on in life, at school and in this journey that I've set out on for myself. Some things have been terrific some things have been terrifically terrible (is terrifically a word???) Regardless, here I am, the end of October...one more teaching day this month. Five short weeks I'll be on Christmas Holidays (sorry, don't mean to rub it in for all those who have to work well into December!)
And what will Christmas holidays bring, you might ask... as of today, with the exception of a trip to the Travel agent to pay for it, I will be spending three fabulous weeks gallivanting across Europe. I will see many of the countries that I have wanted to experience... Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Belgium, France, England...I'm forgetting a few. Anywho, it will be grand. And what's more is I need not worry about anything from the time I arrive in London until I leave for Kuwait. It will be swell.
In the meantime, however, I was asked if I would travel to Amsterdam for a conference...I might have mentioned that in my last blog. At any rate, I leave on Thursday night/Friday morning and will return to Kuwait sometime Tuesday. It will be five gloriously wonderful days away from Kuwait.
November also means a trip to Doha, Qatar, for my birthday. Three friends and myself are taking off for a weekend of adventure and fun. It should really be a good time. I have met some really great people while I've been here and am looking forward to travel with them. It will be an adventure.
So between jet setting and teaching, life is pretty full. Tomorrow we have our Grade Five Assembly...it will be a time, I'm sure. In addition, we have an author visit in the afternoon, followed by a Halloween party from 1:30 - 2:30. Tomorrow night are Parent Teacher Interviews. We also have interviews Thursday morning and then have the afternoon off...it will be a nice time to get all those things I need to get ready for the sub. The planning is done, just a matter of gathering materials and such.
And that is life in a nutshell. I will be sure to get some more photos posted...especially upon my return from Amsterdam.
Peace and Love comin' your way!!
G & T
