Here it is...the blog you've all been waiting for...
Now that I've built up the suspense, I am sorry to say there won't be anything special. Internet has been funky lately. still no pictures (I know I suck) but they will come someday...when I have the time to come to school and play on the computer. Sadly I've been busy getting report cards ready (in the event of an emergency evacuation, we needed to have them ready to go last week, but continue to update on a regular basis. Ah the beauty of electronic report cards. Evac doesn't look likely...life is good, really. Eyes in the sky watching so not saying more than that at this time.
School life is keeping me busy. We're in the midst of ITBS testing. My kidlets are holding up rather well. I hated CTBS tests as a kid...I can't say I enjoy administering them either. I do, however, get a kick out of the "Read exactly as written" direction in the book. My students think that I am off my rocker as I read directions using far more inflection than would ever be necessary. I say it word for word...I just figured they need a little something to lighten the mood. I do wish we had a Tim Horton's here. When I was in Saskatchewan, I'd stop by and get my students some treats to start the day - kept the mood light enough to prevent anyone from getting an ulcer.
So last night's adventure...went to the butcher shop - the one I went to my first week here and haven't been back to. Needed to buy a roast (more about that another day). Anywho, as I was looking at the "cuts of beef" chart in the shop, what did I see? You guest it - REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN. As it turns out, the poster is from a Canadian meat packer thing. Then right beside it is a big sign promoting Alberta beef. It was the funniest thing. Anywho, the butcher brought over the slab of meat (did you know when you get a roast, it doesn't look all roasty at first?) and I was frightened, because I can cook a roast, but I can't cook a huge slab of meat. Anywho, then he cut here and there and made a pretty slab of meat. THEN he use the rope stuff and actually made the slab of meat look like a roast. I even got a little strip of extra fat to make yummy drippings. Was very cool experience. I love that shop. I don't know why I go to the grocery store when I could just go there (and it's closer and less expensive and better cuts of meat).
Well, it's 10:00 and I've eaten my entire lunch...I even had a smoothie for breakfast. Oh well. I still have my snack. Just had my annual evaluation meeting with my admin team. They seem fairly pleased with my performance thus far. I like it here. I makes a huge difference when you like your job. I will be officially moving come the end of the month. Much packing to do. Stupid IKEA and all the cool things I bought there when I lived in Kuwait...oh did I mention I am going to Kuwait next weekend for a trip to IKEA. Hee hee hee. I so funny.
And other than that, I don't have much news to report at this time. Tonight I am making a roast for some friends...gonna try yorkshire pudding too. Haven't ever made it before, but am trusting my Purity Cookbook...it has yet to let me down :)
Wishing all the moms reading this a Happy Belated Mother's Day. Missing my friends and family very much and looking forward to some time at home in just a few short week.
Until next time...
Ty

Glad that you are safe and sound and all is well with you.
You sent me into hoots of laugher with your description of your visit to the butcher shop. I am sure your dinner was a smashing success. Connected with your mom a couple of weeks ago and had a long "telephone chit chat."
Look forward to touching base with you in a few weeks when you can relay all your adventures in person.
Hi, Ty,
Into every life must come the first Yorkshire-making disappointment! For most of us, after that first try, it can only improve. And they taste good anyway, right? When they're hot? Sure.
Our all-in-one printer died last week. I had no idea how attached I was to it. Only 7 years old! Anyway, now the painful process of becoming familiar with the new one. So far, not good - very clumsy at scanning. And I need stuff to look spiffy for the DKG conference in Moose Jaw this weekend. Borrowed an impressive display board from your Mom. Wish me luck! More on that when you're here in person.
Lots of love, Lynn
