Apparently there's been news coverage speaking of the considerable unrest in Syria. While we have been told to keep a cautious eye open for large, spontaneous gatherings, currently Damascus is pretty quiet and calm. We receive warden messages from the US Embassy as well as updates from the Canadian Embassy as needed. Our emergency phone tree has been tested and is in working order :) It's essentially life as usual for us all. Rest easy. I am :)
