Marhaba!
Ramadan has finished, Eid is over and I'm back into the regular swing of things at school. Ramadan is always a bit of a challenge - you don't realize how much your body desires water until it's more difficult to have whenever you want it. Regardless, I have made it through with very little difficulty.
On Thursday, I decided to head to Kuwait for the long weekend. Time with friends and classes at the Corniche was all that I desired. Both aspects of the visit were super. I had a delightful time from my arrival until my departure. Perhaps knowing that I was there for only 4 days makes it easier to enjoy. Thankfully there wasn't a single dust storm to cause me any grief. I made it through a weekend in Kuwait without going to the International Clinic or the Pharmacy. Go me!
I arrived Thursday afternoon around 2:30. Getting through the visa line and customs was as easy as pie. once I arrived, I learned my SyriaTel phone didn't work there, so I stopped at the Zain booth and got a sim card for my phone. It is a temporary number, but made the weekend in Kuwait a lot easier in terms of keepig in touch with people. Thursday afternoon was spent visiting with Mel and Jason (they picked me up at the airport). We headed to the corniche so we could get a copy of the schedule. Then we went to Jessie's. Jessie and I spent the afternoon visiting and catching up before having supper. We enjoyed an episode of Dawson's Creek and some great visiting time. I went to Pump class on Thursday night. I was delighted that Blain was teaching the old release. That meant everything came rather naturally. However, I was mighty sore come Thursday night.
Following pump class, I went to Starbucks with Mel and Jason. We had a really good visit. It was great to get to spend some quality time with them. Upon returning to Jessie's I called it a night. Friday was an action packed day.
I got up Friday morning feeling really great. My body wasn't sore at all. Go me! I went to combat...brand new release and wowzers, was I sore (for the rest of the weekend...two additional pump classes probably contributed to the soreness) Friday afternoon was a shopping expedition at the Avenues with the girls. Jason met Mel, Jessie, Nadine and I for supper at Johnny Rockets at 5:00. How I enjoy Johnny Rockets...I just wish my tummy enjoyed it as much as the rest of me does.
Saturday was also very busy, an early morning breakfast, Pump (the new release this time - major ouch), lunch with Stephanie at the Chocolate Bar, an afternoon mani and pedi with Jessie, Dinner in the evening and another late night (needed to bake a birthday cake before I went to bed) Was a great day.
Sunday morning included one last trip to the gym (pump - the old version), coffee with Kelly, my trainer in Kuwait, icing a birthday cake, a birthday brunch, a trip to the airport, a flight back to Damascus, visiting with friends here, a few episodes of Corner Gas and bed. Not bad for a days work.
All in all, it was a great weekend. I had a delightful time and look forward to a return visit. Even more, I look forward to friends joining me in Damascus. I am glad to have had a great return trip to Kuwait.
Until more adventures arise....
Tylene
