Time stands still for no one...

Not even me...for here we are, two weeks since I last blogged and I have been lax (again) in my blogging responsibility. I do assume that you all love me so much that you do indeed forgive me...well, at least I can hope :)

I am just doing the final preparations for the ISS job fair in Boston. It's going to be a crazy week. I leave on Sunday and between now and then have parent teacher conferences and a ton of running around to do. Boston has snow...packing will be a challenge! I'm going for a mani and pedi on Thursday, although why I'm getting a pedi is beyond me...I can't wear open toed shoes at my interview...or could I? Hee hee

Anywho, I've been diligently planning away at my portfolio. What a process, but it's nearly finished. ALso, in my spare time, I'm making sub notes for next week, tutoring, going to the gym, baking up a storm and sleeping (a little). I must admit that I will be relieved when the stress of the job fair is over. Everyone keeps saying "Don't be stressed...you're going to do just fine" but I stress nonetheless. Why is it that being confident in ourselves is most difficult when we have to convince strangers that we're worth hiring? Hmmm. I think they should just see me and know that I'm great. Away with the interviewing. I too would like to recognize that they are great.

I spent a lot of the last week portfolioing and and relieved that I am almost finished. A few more examples of student work and I'll be good to go. I've made a mini portfolio of sorts...one that I can leave with schools that I am really interested it. There just isn't enough time to go through it while in an interview.

I guess that's about all that's new in the desert. Oh, we've had a couple days of rain...lots of thunder and lightening last night. If only it weren't so humid and dirty...then I'd really enjoy it.

Well, I'm gonna sign off and head to bed. An early day again tomorrow. I hope all is well with each of you...talk to you next week from Boston!

Tylene

P.S. You may or may not know that my one true love, Pacey Whitter, was in Boston. So really, we'll be in the same place.

P.P.S For those of you who don't know who Pacey Whitter is, he's from Dawson's Creek. I love him :)

Hi, Ty,
Just indulged in catching up with your blog and can't wait to hear more about the job fair in Boston! We'll all learn more about the world and international education from your consideration of other overseas schools. Exciting! I hope there was some fun as well as the inevitable stress.
John and Jenn and their wee preemie have had the lowest low (two weeks ago) and the highest high (two days ago). Two weeks ago we didn't know if she was going to make it but this weekend they removed all the breathing etc. tubes which made her so mad, she was always doing her level little best to tear them out! There is a system that monitors her breathing and supplements her own efforts whenever she doesn't take the required number of breaths in a minute on her own - but all this through her nose rather than through a tube down into her lungs. Friday was her expected due date although she is now three months old.
Beautiful bright sunshine although its cold here. Daily walks to get ready for NZ and the Olympics are on. Thinking of you! Love, Lynn
